Old Drogheda Society

The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland's will this year be running two steam train shuttles from Drogheda Railway Station on Sunday August 9th.
The first one will leave at 11.37am for Dundalk and the second on departing for Skerries at 1.55pm.
This is the 4th year in a row that these popular trips have run, with trips to Skerries operating each year but this year the Society have added a shuttle run to Dundalk, crossing the Boyne Viaduct and passing through the former stations in Dunleer and Castlebellingham.
A dining car runs on both trains offering teas, coffees and snacks as well as a full bar service, including draught beer.

Tickets go on sale from Drogheda Tourist Office, The Thosel, West Street on Monday July 13th. Fares Adult €12 Children ( under 16) €6 . The office opens Monday to Saturday 9.30 am - 5.30 pm.

This is a great opportunity to roll back the years and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the steam era. It is ideal for families bringing back memories to the older members and giving an insight of times pass to the younger ones who may have never seen a steam locomotive in action.
