‘Innovate Drogheda – Printing’ is the third of a series of four events, celebrating Drogheda’s industrial history & entrepreneurial past with its present and future entrepreneurs will be held on Thursday November 13th at 8 pm in the Mill, Enterprise Hub, Greenhills, Drogheda
Former Borough Councillor and Drogheda Musem Millmount Guide, Frank Gallagher will talk about printing history in Drogheda, Dr. Conor MacCormack of Mcor Technologies will speak of how they are developing new product in 3D printing and the future prospects for growth in the sector.
An open discussion will be held amongst attendees.
Drogheda has a strong tradition of printing over the past two centuries, with newspapers such as the Drogheda Conservative, The Argus, Drogheda Independent, Drogheda Express, The Local News, Drogheda Leader and still includes a number of the largest printing firms in Ireland. Many famous people started their careers in the Drogheda printing industry including patriot and poet, John Boyle O'Reilly and comedian Dave Allen.
Mcor Technologies is an innovative manufacturer of the world’s most affordable, full-colour and eco-friendly 3D printers. They are the only 3D printers to use ordinary business-A4/letter paper as the build material, a choice that renders durable, stable and tactile models. Mcor Technologies was formed by brothers Dr. Conor MacCormack and Fintan MacCormack in a bid to democratise ‘innovation,’ by creating a set of accessible tools based on Selective Deposition Lamination (SDL) technology that would provide the freedom to innovate in an unlimited way.
