The Annual Moira and Terry Corcoran inter school history quiz, organised by Drogheda Museum Millmount, for transition year students is due to take place in early December, a potential date is Tuesday December 2nd.
We are inviting all the transition year co-ordinators to have their schools participate in this year’s programme, which involves a visit to Millmount Museum and Martello Tower, visit the Old Drogheda Society Library at Millmount and then go on a walking tour of historic Drogheda.
There is no limit to the amount of students that each school can enrol on the project (registration fee €2 per student) but each school can select a team of ten students to participate in the table quiz with all questions relating to the programme.
All visits must be completed by November 28th All participating students will be presented with certificates, team students will receive a medal and the winning school will be presented with the Moira and Terry Corcoran Perpetual Trophy.
To enter your school for this project or to get further information, please contact Liam Reilly or Kathleen O’Brien at Millmount Museum. Phone 041-9833097 or e-mail email@example.com, and they will make arrangements to suit your particular needs.
The programme is an ideal opportunity to increase awareness in local history and heritage and foster a civic spirit in students.
