Carlow Museum: Discover the varied history and heritage of County Carlow from the archaeological gems of Old Leighlin Cathedral and Saint Mullins to personalities such as the Irish Volunteer Kevin Barry who was hanged at the tender age of nineteen, the raconteur Val Vousden and the scientist John Tyndall who was the first person to discover the greenhouse effect. View the magnificent 19th century hand carved pulpit from Carlow Cathedral.
Carlow Military Museum: A fine museum exhibition housed in a late 19th century church. The museum features a wide range of exhibits relating to Carlow’s military history
Carlow Cathedral: Built in 1833, the magnificent tower and lantern, reaching 46 metres, was inspired by the Cloth Hall at Bruges in Belgium. The current bishop is Bishop Dennis Nulty, the former St Mary's Parish Priest.
Duckett's Grove: Designed in a Castellated Gothic revival style circa 1825. The building incorporates numerous towers and turrets of varying shapes – round, square and octagonal. Duckett’s Grove is elaborately ornamented with oriels and niches containing statues, the entrance is the most stupendous castellated gateway in Ireland.
Price €30.00 per person
Light lunch (at own expense) will be available at Duckett’s Grove.
There will be a stop on way home at Swords to avail of the Carvery (at own expense) in Harp Bar at Carnegie Court Hotel
