Old Drogheda Society
  •  Some information from the Meath Archaeological and Historical Society

Ríocht na Midhe is celebrating 60 years. It was first issued in 1955.
The MAHS council has published our programme of events for the year on our website so please come along to as many as you can.
The launch of this years Ríocht na Midhe took place at the Ardboyne Hotel Navan on Thursday the 12th of February at 7:30 pm.
The editor Peter Connell spoke about the history and achievements of the journal since its inception. The 2015 journal was then launched by Most Rev. Michael Smith, Patron of the society. This was followed by a most interesting presentation Seventeenth-century Meath: Messages and Meanings from Local Maps and Surveys  by Dr Arnold Horner (UCD School of Geography).
There is a very good article about the society and launch in the Meath Chronicle dated Saturday February 28th.
A special welcome to our new readers who have subscribed since the last newsletter.
Remember to check our website each week as it has the latest information and updates on events.
