Frank Gallagher has been a crucial part of the activities of the Old Drogheda Society for many years and has carried out pioneering research into the history of the early Trade Union Movement in Drogheda with a constant emphasis on the social history of the common people in times past.

 

An active Trade Unionist since his youth, he has been Secretary of the Drogheda Council of Trades Unions for many years and was elected to Drogheda Borough Council as a representative of the Socialist Party.
