This year's Traditional Day in Millmount takes place today and celebrates The Seven Ages of Irish Music in Drogheda - the major role played by Drogheda in the history of Irish Music .... from the ancient mythology of AMHAIRGIN, the inventor of poetry and song who is reputedly buried under Millmount ... to the famous Drogheda Harp Society of the 19th Century ... the Singing Weaver John Shiel ... the Taylor Brothers and the great Drogheda Uilleann Pipers .. to Mary Ann Carolan and the other great traditional singers and musicians of the 20th Century.
