Following last night's Building Ireland feature on the Boyne Viaduct, Nationwide's programme with a report from Alasdair Jackson on the links between Drogheda and St Oliver Plunkett will be shown tonight, Wednesday August 6th at 7 pm.
St. Oliver Plunkett's head has been venerated in St. Peter's
Church here in Drogheda since 1921 .... but his association with the town goes
back much further than that .... back to the Seventeen hundreds. This summer a
new book on his life has been published and just recently a new play has been
performed in the town focusing on the days leading up to his execution. Reporter,
Alasdair Jackson's been to Drogheda to find out more about the links between
the town and Oliver Plunkett.
