Old Drogheda Society
As part of the Bealtine Festival, Historian, Brendan Matthews will present a Talk on the Background and Lead-up to the 1916 Easter Rising. The venue is the Drogheda Library in Stockwell Street, Drogheda. The talk will commence this coming Saturday, May 21st, @ at 3pm.
The Talk will last for around 45 minutes and Brendan will discuss the events in Ireland throughout the 19th century; the rise in the population, the Famine, the Fenian Movement, the Land war and the reorganisation of the Irish republican Brotherhood in association with Clan na Gael in America.
This Presentation talk is open to everyone and admission to the event is free.
